TRUE North Familia overpowered Oleai Poksu 10-5 in a Thursday B game of the Saipan Electronic Dart Association’s Bud Light Flame Tree League at the True North Bar & Grill.
Familia went on the offensive right from the start as John San Nicolas, Franklin Faisao and Daniel Kintol grabbed three of the four rounds in the opening 301 Double In/Double Out match.
As a team, Familia stayed strong with Mike Iguel and Fuji Suel pairing up along with Olympio “Munz” Muna and AJ Suel to sweep the Partners Crazy Cricket round and give their team the lead, 5-1.
Poksu tried to stay alive with a two-win sweep of their own in the Partners 501 Double In/Double Out round, but they failed to keep the momentum flowing as only Jemma “Jemz” Manibo could win a match in the individual Singles Regular Cricket round while the rest of the matches were claimed by Familia.
With only three rounds left, Familia was in the clear despite Poksu snatching one more victory before going down 5-10.
6JMS Seikid B vs Jonny’s Kingz
In their match, 6JMS Seikid B barely escaped with a win against Jonny’s Kingz.
Both teams bumped heads constantly as Kingz’s Darwin Sablan performed well while Seikid B fought back with teamwork. After the first three rounds, the match was deadlocked 4-4.
However, in the Singles Regular Cricket round, Seikid B found their second wind with Hank Magofna, Zack Cruz and Swiper Ongiil excelling in the one-on-one battles to give their team the lead, 7-5.
Kingz still had a chance for a comeback but Seikid B bagged the last win in the Partners Half-It round to secure victory 8-7.
6JMS Che-Cherry vs Jonny’s Ridin’ Darrty
In another exciting match, 6JMS Che-Cherry outlasted Jonn’s Ridin’ Darrty 9-6.
Ridin’ Darrty seemed to be headed in the right direction at first with a 3-1 run in the opening round before splitting the Partners Crazy Cricket round.
But as soon as Ridin’ Darrty lowered their guard, Che-Cherry went for the kill.
In the Partners 501 Double In/Double Out round, Jacob “Jakestar” Itibus and RJ “Hor Rod” Elab along with Willy “Kiwi” Aguilar and Dominic Elab notched a 3-1 win to snatch the lead 7-5.
Ridin’ Darrty’s could only split the Partners Half-It round before bowing down to Che-Cherry 6-9.
