JESS Farinas is the July champion of the New Bamboo 8-Ball Tournament which concluded Sunday, July 25, at the New Bamboo Bar of Saipan Vegas.
Farinas found his stroke right from the start as he knocked down back-to-back shots to quickly take down Albert Pangilinan.
Farinas was unstoppable as he advanced past Nolan Cultura and Rowel Mariano to reach the semifinals.
Even the previous overall monthly winner, Jerry Soriano, was no match against Farinas who continued to shine en route to victory.
From the losers bracket, Soriano fought back to contention after beating Cesar Sangalang to earn the right to face Farinas in a rematch.
Despite defensive placements aimed to stopped Farinas in his tracks, Soriano could not deliver the finishing blow and instead had to bow down to Farinas who took home the first place trophy and $500 cash.
Soriano, who finished second, received $250 while third and fourth placers Cesar Sangalang and Rey Hermogenes took home $100 and $50, respectively.
