Group to commemorate 22nd year of Falun Dafa’s persecution

THE Saipan Falun Dafa Association will hold a series of events commemorating the 22nd anniversary of the persecution of Falun Dafa initiated by the Chinese Communist Party.

According to a representative of the local group, they will hold a 15-vehicle motorcade on Saipan from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on July 16, 17 and 18.

On July 19, Monday, local Falun Dafa practitioners will exhibit banners on Beach Road at the San Jose intersection from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

“There will be a distribution of truth materials and small lotus flowers to local residents,” said Catherine of the local Falun Dafa.

Local residents are welcome to participate, she added.

On July 20, from 7:50 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., she said they will hold a candlelight memorial activity at the Falun Dafa Center in Garapan.

Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a peaceful spiritual practice rooted in traditional Chinese culture, its proponents said.

Falun Dafa “consists of meditation exercises, and a moral philosophy centered on the values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.”

All Falun Dafa activities, including classes and practices, are offered by volunteers and open to the public, free of charge.

Falun Dafa said it has over 100 million practitioners in 114 countries.

The Chinese Communist Party, the governing party of China, has been persecuting Falun Dafa since July 20, 1999, Falun Dafa said.

“The CCP has slandered Falun Dafa, and imprisoned and killed Falun Dafa practitioners,” the group added.
