(MCS) — Mount Carmel School is excited to announce that it will bring the movies back to Saipan with its next film, “Zero2Hero,” which will have its premiere screenings at Hollywood Theaters on May 21.
The movie is part of the MCS Theatre Club’s ongoing celebration of its 25th anniversary and is a sequel to the cult classic, “Zero to Hero,” which was released 10 years ago. “Zero2Hero” stars Jill Mallari and Aleia Santos as Re’ha and Roze, two school rivals who are mentored by their older cousins, Richard and Zero, played by the two stars of the first film, Kevin Bautista and Victor Cabrera. The movie is directed by Jedric Villar and was written by school president and the director of the first movie, Galvin Deleon Guerrero, along with Theatre Club AlumKnight Justin Ocampo.
As a lead up to the premiere, on Friday, May 14 — one week before the premiere of “Zero2Hero” — the MCS Theatre Club will release, for the first time, the first film, 2010’s “Zero to Hero,” for free on the school’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/c/MountCarmelSchool
To comply with Covid-19 Mitigation Guidelines, tickets will be limited and available only on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding for this production is provided by the CNMI CARES Relief Fund for Organizations and supported by the National Endowment for the Arts through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security or CARES Act of 2020.
