THE members of Falun Dafa Association of Saipan expressed their sincere appreciation to the Department of Public Safety for providing police escorts during their weekly motorcades this month as they mark World Falun Dafa Day and the 29th anniversary of the group’s founding.
“We sincerely thank the local police for helping ensure an orderly and peaceful motorcade,” Falun Dafa stated.
The motorcade aimed to promote “the beauty of Falun Dafa and the universal values of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance,” Falun Dafa added.
The group also expressed appreciation for the United States and the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands for practicing democracy and respecting human rights and freedom of belief “in stark contrast to the Chinese Communist Party, which has undermined China’s 5,000 years of traditional human ethics and beliefs.”
In China, Falun Dafa stated, the CCP persecutes Falun Dafa practitioners who believe in truthfulness, compassion and forbearance. “Their spouses are scattered, their families are destroyed, their homes are ransacked, they are placed under surveillance, their freedoms are restricted, they suffer economic persecution, they are tortured, maimed or killed.”
According to its adherents, Falun Dafa, which is also known as Falun Gong, is an ancient Chinese spiritual practice rooted in Buddhist traditions. It consists of “moral teachings and five gentle exercises that offer an effective and rewarding way to improve your health and energy levels.”
In 1999, China’s Communist regime outlawed Falun Dafa and began persecuting its followers.
