House minority bloc members beautify Paupau Beach Park

AS part of their commitment to the public-private partnership program of the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisers, the House minority bloc members cleaned up Paupau Beach Park and painted its sidewalk.

Reps. Angel Demapan, Joseph Leepan Guerrero, Joel Camacho, Roy Ada, John Paul Sablan and Joseph Flores worked on their beautification project for two days, and have transformed Paupau’s sidewalk into a colorful artwork that depicts island life.

When they joined GCEA’s public-private partnership program, the House minority bloc members started with basketball courts and other sports facilities in the villages before moving to public parks.

At Paupau Beach, Camacho said, “We wanted to do something really unique.”

“I don’t think I have seen something like this before anywhere on island. This sidewalk mural is something original,” he said, adding that he is also thankful to his colleagues and their staff for their hard work in beautifying one of the most popular beach areas on island.

Demapan said they are looking forward to working on the island’s other sidewalks.

He said such projects will help prepare the island for the reopening of the tourism industry — “when things get back to normal.”
