PAIRE Football Club is now in second place in the team standings of the Men’s M-League Spring 2021 Division A after slipping past The One Football Club on Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center.
It was a tough match for both teams as they battled through the first 20 minutes of the match with no answer on either end of the field.
The One’s slow but steady pace was finally rewarded at the 25th minute mark when its players overwhelmed Paire with Ming Guang Xu scoring the first goal of the game to give The One the lead, 1-0.
But Paire’s players made sure they were heard during the second half.
Starting at the 45th minute mark, Paire broke the silence with Jeff Seo sinking a shot to even the score 1-1. The team kept the fire burning with two more goals as Ajani Burrel joined the score board with a goal at the 51st minute mark while Seo added his second goal six minutes later to give Paire a 3-1 lead.
The One FC tried to stay relevant with Xu sinking his second goal at the 61st minute mark. But two minutes after, Paire sealed the deal thanks to Yogi Singh’s goal. Paire won, 4-2.
U18 Team A vs Kanoa
U18 Team A and Kanoa Football Club were evenly matched with neither team able to score in the first half.
But toward the end of the match, U18 Team A suddenly gained the upper hand after Taka Borja scored a goal to give his team a 1-0 lead.
The U18 Team A players tried to maintain control with less than 20 minutes left on the clock, but Kanoa’s relentless efforts finally paid off at the 78th minute mark as Jhoey Noble delivered the blow to force a 1-1 draw.
