NMI student makes Dean’s List at Boston University

SAIPAN-BORN Fahim Uddin, a computer science student at Boston University, has been named to the Spring 2021 Dean’s List. He will graduate in 2022.

To be included on the dean’s list, a student must have at least a 3.5 average on a 4.0 grading scale for a semester. According to the QS World University Rankings, BU is among the top 20 universities in the nation.

“I would like to thank Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang for accommodating my course schedule, as I worked at the mayor’s office for a year,” Uddin said.

Uddin was a data science intern for the street numbering project of the mayor’s office.

Uddin also thanked the Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council, which has hired him to create personnel inventories and catalogues for the council’s database.

Uddin graduated from Marianas High School in 2017 and was a member of the National Honor Society, the Real World Design Challenge aeronautical team and the National Speech and Debate team.

Uddin is also a former junior reporter of Saipan Tribune and Marianas Variety

His parents are Jashim Uddin and Nazmun Fatema.
