BECQ monthly cleanup set for June 5

(BECQ) — As a community deeply connected to our lands and seas, it is our commitment to ensure that our precious natural resources are conserved, protected, and effectively managed for generations to come. It is through ecosystem-based management, effective conservation, and fostering environmental stewardship that we are able to protect, and in many cases, restore and enhance, our resources.

In honor of CNMI Ocean Month, the Bureau of Environmental & Coastal Quality Monthly Beach Cleanup will be hosting a cleanup at LaoLao Bay Beach from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

If you would like to volunteer your time to clean and beautify our island, please meet the BECQ representatives on Saturday in the LaoLao Bay beach permeable parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers will split into groups and clean until 10:30 a.m.

Cleanup supplies such as gloves, trash bags, and hand sanitizers will be provided. Trash hauling and disposal will be taken care of by BECQ. Water will be provided — just bring your reusable water bottles!
