(MINA) — The Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance is excited to announce the return of the Green Gala on Sept. 10, 2021, an event to celebrate conservation of our islands’ precious natural resources, and to recognize the efforts of members of the community, schools and businesses to advance these goals in the Marianas.
Nominations are now being accepted for these awards for individuals and organizations in the following categories:
Environmental Champion Award
An individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the environment and conservation of our natural resources.
Environmental Heroes Award
A school, public or private, whose dedication to the environment is echoed through its students and their efforts to conserve our natural resources.
Green Business of the Year Award
A business that is committed to conservation and has incorporated the green business culture through its entire company.
Nominations must include: 1) Your name and contact information; 2) Your nominee and the category nominated for, and 3) a brief narrative describing your nominee’s efforts at environmental conservation.
Please submit your nominations on or before June 30, 2021 to minaoutreach@gmail.com.
Remember to save Sept. 10 on your calendars for the annual Green Gala during which all Covid-19 preventative measures as recommended by the Covid-19 Task Force and CDC will be observed.
Tickets have always sold out for past Galas, so be on the lookout for updates about one of Saipan’s premiere events to secure your tickets early.
