(Office of the Governor) — The Department of Commerce Registrar of Corporation hereby gives notice to the general public of the implementation of new fee structure as mandated under P.L. 21-37 or 4 CMC §4263 effective May 1, 2021.

The revenue generated from the new fee structure will allow the Department of Commerce, Registrar of Corporation to upgrade its computers and programs to enable all corporations and individual to access from our website all requirements, forms, and assistance in filing for new corporation and other required corporation reports. Additionally, it will enable Commerce to expand its digitization of over 2 million documents, filed with the Registrar of Corporation. The capability will be made available at our offices in Tinian and Rota as well.
In addition, the upgrade will provide for an online portal to help businesses file, search, and order business records, as well as filing for a financing statement or searching for a corporation, limited liability company, domestic partnership, limited partnership filing or non-profit corporations.
The online portal will provide statistics about CNMI businesses to include links to data products, related programs and additional information. All active programs are included along with discontinued programs of continuing interest.
The last comprehensive fee adjustment occurred in 1998 pursuant to Executive Order No. 97-03. The fee adjustment review provided the basis of the increase in fees for the streaming of business process.
The new fee structure is available at http://www.cnmilaw.org/pdf/cmc_section/T4/4205.pdf
