JOSE I. Sablan won the Saipan Golf Association’s February Ace of the Month Tournament at the Kingfisher Golf Links on Feb. 28, 2021.
Sablan had an impressive run even with a handicap of 27. He moved through the freeway with grace, scoring a gross of 44 on the front nine and a gross of 48 on the back nine for a total of 92. Supported by his handicap, his net score was 65, good enough for first place.
In second place was Janet F. Torres who had a more impressive output. She shot a gross of 45 on the front nine and improved her score on the back with a gross of 42 for a total of 87. With a handicap of 21, her net score was 66.
Tony T. Benavente shot the lights out with a gross of 36 on the front nine and 40 on the back for a total gross score of 76. With a handicap of 8, his net totaled 68 which earned him a third-place finish.
In the side events, the Closest to the Pin challenge was claimed by Janet Torres at holes #6 and #15; Alex Tudela, hole #8; and Das Krishnan, hole #12.
For the Longest Drive, Ray S. Salas took hole #7 while Tony Benavente was numero uno at hole #18.
