(500 Sails) — The Lalåyak Project uses a curriculum of basic sailing skills developed by Master Navigator Cecilio Raiukiulipiy and 500 Sails Co-Founder Peter Perez. Classes are taught by previous cohort members, 500 Sails staff, and Cecilio as available.
“We are looking for people willing to give back to the community as instructors in future Lalåyak classes. Let’s continue to revive the sailing traditions of the Marianas by working together!”
These Lalåyak classes are a perfect addition to the Sunday Sails program run by Master Navigator Mario Benito that takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving rides and introductory sailing experiences to new sailors.
