Lawyer: IPI has sufficient funds to cover March 26 payroll

IMPERIAL Pacific International LLC believes it has sufficient funds to cover payroll, its attorney, Michael Dotts, stated in his 10th status report to the federal court.

“IPI’s next payday is March 26,” he added.

As part of Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona’s civil contempt order against IPI, the casino investor is required to file a weekly report regarding developments in the payment of the consent judgment.

In his latest report, Dotts said IPI employee housing still has power, and food services have continued without interruption for all H-2B workers.

He said there are no new repatriations to report and the construction work at IPI’s casino site in Garapan remains suspended as ordered by the court.

“There are no other matters to report on,” Dotts added.

Judge Manglona previously ordered IPI and IPI chairwoman Cui Li Jie to purge their contempt of court by, among other things, paying for the $1,182,793 owed as back wages under the 2019 consent judgment.
