Aon falls to Islander 90-67 in Masters caging

Both teams battled it out at Gilbert C. Ada gym, where the Islanders soared to 25 points in the first quarter. Aon’s John Dapuyon scored six points before being overwhelmed by Islander defenders.

Islander’s Jack Palacios started the game with a free throw followed by Claud Calvo and Jerry Lopez with two points apiece. Islander’s lead-scorer Warren Villegas had to wait it out until the second half, where he posted two-thirds of his total shots.

Dapuyon and Frank Babauta kept the Aons alive in the third quarter despite falling 10 points behind. Both resulted as the games’ top scorers, with latter scoring 20 points. Gerry Butalid and Bernard Santos later lost the ball to Jack Palacios, who scored four more points.

Roger Valencia secured the Islanders’ victory with a quick three-pointer while Lilio Tiples slipped his last shot in the final seconds.
