Superior Court Associate Judge Kenneth L. Govendo reduced the initial $5,000 bail order to $2,500 and said the defendant, Patrick Concepcion Aldan, can post $250 cash and the remaining $2,250 as unsecured or appearance bond.
Govendo remanded Aldan to the custody of the Department of Corrections after his initial court appearance yesterday.
According to Detective Flora Aguon, Ray Teregeyo told Customs Inspector Sean White that Teregeyo’s nephew, Aldan, wanted to return FJ cruiser wheel sets to the police.
Aguon said she, together with Detectives Buddy Igitol, Jonathan Decena and Jeffrey Norita, went to Aldan’s workplace and invited him to an interview at the Criminal Investigation Bureau’s office in Susupe.
After Aldan consented to a search of his vehicle, police confirmed that the wheel sets were the spare tires of a Toyota FJ Cruisers based on information from a Microl Toyota staffer.
Police said Aldan admitted stealing four FJ cruiser spare tires in the past.
Aldan, police added, disclosed to Detective Jeffrey Olopai where the defendant stole the spare tires which had an estimated value of $3,459.92.
Last March, Ka Yee Sui reported to police that a spare tire of his Toyota FJ Cruiser was missing.
