KagHS JROTC says food drive a success

Cadets worked together and collected over 327 items valued at over $600 which they then donated to Karidat for needy families during the holidays.

In an interview, the Ayuyu battalion commander, Cadet Lt. Col. Debra Buekis, said: “It is better to give rather than receive.”

She added, “To help  low-income families is a great opportunity and we would like them to have a merry Christmas.

Kagman High wishes we could do more than just donate food for the needy.”

Despite the ailing economy, the cadets collected a significant amount of canned goods for those in need.

A parent of a KagHS student who declined to be identified said she was touched to see many community organizations wanting to donate to  Karidat.

She said she is very proud of the KagHS students for their hard work in collecting canned goods.

“This act of determination and commitment to bring Christmas to everyone proves that the students of KagHS have the Christmas spirit. It also proves that they have a big heart and unconditional generosity. Kudos to the Kagman High school JROTC cadets!”
