There will be an XTERRA University Camp on Thursday, March 9, 2011 from 9 am to 5 pm held at the Pacific Islands Club but it is subjected to change and be cancelled if not a lot of participants show up on the day or register for it.
On Friday, March 11, 2011 there will be a tank to tank swim starting at 12 pm. Pick will be at the Pacific Islands Club’s lobby. Following the tank to tank race is the packet and registration pick up fro the XTERRA Championship from 2 pm to 5pm.
Followed by the packet and registration pick up is the XTERRA Sunset Scramble 5k/10k at the American Memorial Park starting at 5pm. The XTERRA Sunset 5k/10k Trail Run/Walk is composed of 5k for family and friends; 10k for the serious trail runner.
All entrants will receive a collectable T-shirt and awards to the top age groups. A portion of the proceeds benefit the MTEC (Marianas Tourism Education Council). Entry fee for the trail run is $20. Registration deadline is March 8, 2011.
After the scramble is the XTERRA Sunset Scramble 5k/10k Awards Ceremony at 6pm also at the American Memorial Park. And the final event for the day will be the XTERRA Saipan Welcome Reception held at the Pacific Islands Club pool side.
This event is included in your registration (for the Championship and Sport events). It is a complimentary welcome reception. Soft drinks and beers are included and a no host bar will be available. XTERRA Saipan wrist band required. No exceptions. Tickets for family and friends are $25.
On race day, Saturday, March 12, 2011 the XTERRA Final Check-in and Body Marking will start at the American Memorial Park at 5 am to 6:15 am. Then the XTERRA Saipan Championship (1.5k Swim, 20k MTB, 12k Run) and the XTERRA Sport Start (750m Swim, 20k MTB, 5k Run) will start at the American Memorial Park at 6:30 am.
Following these two events is the XTERRA Kids Bike Race (T-Shirt and Award to All Participants) at 7:30 am also at the American Memorial Park.
At 8:45 am the XTERRA Sports finisher expected. At 9:10 am the XTERRA Pro Male Winner is expected. At 9:35 am the XTERRA Pro Female Winner is expected. At 11:00 am the XTERRA Saipan Championship On-Site Awards Ceremony for the pros will take place.
At 7 pm the XTERRA Saipan Championship Awards Dinner will occur. And finally at 9:00 pm the XTERRA Saipan Post Dinner Party will be held at the American Memorial Park.
