Senior Judge WM. Fremming Nielsen also directed Gilbert Macaranas to turn himself into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service tomorrow.
Upon his release from a federal prison, Macaranas will be placed on three years of supervised release.
He is required to pay a $100 court assessment fee.
Macaranas was ordered not to commit another federal, state, or local crime, and to follow the special conditions imposed by the court.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric S. O’Malley prosecuted the case while Macaranas was represented by G. Anthony Long.
Macaranas admitted that he “knowingly aided and abetted” Carlos Palacios Aldan in distributing “ice” using a Tinian patrol car.
Aldan has been placed by the U.S. District Court for the NMI on three years probation.
On May 19, 2010, agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Tinian police arrested Aldan, Macaranas, and Tinian municipal employee Henry San Nicolas on “ice” charges.
San Nicolas was placed on three years supervised release after he admitted the charge of distribution of a controlled substance.
He was sentenced to time served at the Department of Corrections facility.
Variety learned that San Nicolas was incarcerated for 108 days.
