Gold’s Gym to start dotFIT challenge

The challenge ‘aims at changing lives in the Marianas,’ according to Gold’s Gym general manager Jackie Van Dam, and will offer contestants the chance to ‘exceed their fitness goals, transform themselves, and earn a chance to win cash prizes at the same time.’ It is open to all contestants above the age of 18.

“Our goal has always been to promote fitness and healthy living for our entire island community,” said Van Dam in an email.

“We’ve designed a program that will provide our residents with the perfect way to start the New Year, and we’re looking to some of our community partners to support our efforts,” she added.

Contestants will be measured and photographed at the start of the 12-week program to establish a ‘point of reference’ for their transformation. The same process will be conducted at the end of the challenge to document each participant’s results and to determine each category’s winners. In addition, top winners will be submitted to the national Gold’s Gym competition where they are eligible for a $75,000 prize.

“This will be a great opportunity for companies and organizations to promote health and fitness to their employees.

Our long-term plan is to perpetuate the dotFIT Transformation Challenge and 12 Weeks of Fitness as an annual Gold’s Gym event for our community,” said Van Dam.
