Rollers C falls to Sonics in rotary league

The Sonics entered with a dominating scoring rampage ready to play and revel in the game of basketball. After suffering their first upset against the G-Stars they still hold the top contender’s seat of the league as the championship round approaches.

Adrian Palacios and Melvin Cadiang scored a rally of 4 points a piece in order to get a strong hold of the lead in the first ten minutes of the game. But the Rollers’ Ryan Iglecias and David Diaz fought back after shooting 5 and 4 points respectively.

By the end of the quarter, the Sonics were able to manage a shaky one point lead over the Rollers after team player Brian Ajoste sealed the quarter with a jump shot, 15-14.

As second quarter rolled in, the Sonics stepped it up a notch. Brian Ajoste and Leo Galarse scored 5 and 4 points steady on in their high attempts to widen that shaky gap to a strong hold. Rodeny Szcramento was the only to breach past the Sonics’ defense line consecutively twice, to score 4 points for the Rollers.

By half time the Sonics were able to balloon their lead to 6 points after John Paul Villanueva sealed the quarter with a lay up shot following Ajoste’s security measures; 30-24.

Both teams entered the court for the second half of the bout strong. But the Sonics yet again, stepped it up a notch to leave the Rollers behind. Cadiang scored another 4 points whilst his teammate worked together to score a total of 11 points.

The Rollers were left in the dust as only team players Diaz, Iglecias, and Ralph Francisco scored a total of 6 points after 5 minutes of complete silence. By the bottom of the third quarter, the Sonics left the Rollers behind by 15 points, 45-30.

Fatigue got the better part of the Rollers in the last quarter of the game as the Sonics were in full throttle. Galarse and teammate Jimmy Tudela each collared 5 points in the first 6 minutes of the final quarter. The Rollers weren’t only contesting against the Sonics; they were running out of time as well.

The Sonics in the end crushed team Rollers. The Rollers bided the play offs adieu after the Sonics sealed the game at 62-38.
