Prosecutor resigns

Tomorrow will be the last day for Eli Golob at the AGO.

Golob has accepted a job offer in the states and has already submitted his letter of resignation.

“The Office of the Attorney General is grateful for the service of attorney Eli Golob, who was originally hired to advise our Department of Labor,” said acting Attorney General Michael Ernest in an e-mail to the Variety.

“As an attorney in the civil division, Eli’s contributions were greatly appreciated. However, when a gap was apparent in the criminal division, Eli graciously volunteered to help in Susupe on a temporary basis, which then became permanent,” Ernest said.

“While we are sorry to see him go, we wish him well in his future endeavors,” Ernest said.

Variety was told the Ernest had transmitted a request for a full-time employee slot to the Legislature yesterday.

Last week, Tiberius Mocanu was sworn in as assistant attorney general.

The other prosecutors are Brian Gallagher, Peter Prestley, Benjamin Petersburg, Shelli Neal and  Russel Lorfing.
