PHS A turns back BHS Stellars

With the win, PHS A upped its record to 3 wins and one loss, while the BHS team suffered its second loss in as many games.

The league-leading PHS A team started slow against the cellar-dwelling BHS side as it fell behind in the early goings. After a hot start the BHS team, led by Lucy, managed to cling to a one-point advantage, 13-12, at the end of the first quarter.

But the Stellars’ momentum stopped from there. The hot-starting team went cold as it missed shot after shot. On the other hand, the PHS side woke up from its shooting slump and ignited a furious rally that saw the team outscoring its opponent by 20 points in the second quarter.

The first half ended with PHS up by 19 points, 39-20.

Still on a roll, the PHS A squad, bannered by Charmaine and Rourou, scored at will from the inside and outside.

On the other hand, the slumping BHS side couldn’t find its rhythm and missed a bucket of shots as it failed to mount a comeback in the third canto.

The third period ended with PHS A ahead by a whopping 33 points.

Facing a rout, the BHS team tried to mount a rally in the final period, but its efforts fell short as the PHS A side rolled to a convincing 68-41 victory at the final buzzer.

Charmaine scored a game-high 28 points for PHS A. Rourou added 8 points for the winning team. The Stellars were bannered by Lucy’s 22 markers.
