Man to admit assaulting woman with PVC pipe

Roberto M. De Guzman through his defense counsel, Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller, informed Associate Judge Perry B. Inos that he will enter a guilty plea during his arraignment on Monday.

Inos remanded De Guzman to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.

De Guzman is being held on a $5,250 cash bail.

Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing is prosecuting the case.

The victim, Priscilla Corpuz Tadeo, suffered contusions to her forehead and right arm.

According to the Department of Public Safety, it responded to a disturbance incident at the J&G   barracks,near the Muslim mosque in Garapan on Oct. 9, 2010, at about 9:11 p.m.

De Guzman was looking for Tadeo’s husband whom he wanted to fight, police said.

When the wife approached the defendant, De Guzman began swinging a PVC pipe, measuring about three feet long, and hit the victim.
