Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman imposed a six-month jail term on Kabirul Islam Molla, 36, all suspended except for seven days with credit for the seven days he had already served at the Department of Corrections facility.
Molla will pay a $100 fine, a $25 court assessment fee, a probation fee to be determined by the Adult Probation
Office, and obey all federal and CNMI laws.
In the judgment and commitment order, Wiseman was told by both parties that Molla would enter a plea of guilty to the offense of disturbing the peace.
The government moved and the court granted a dismissal of all the other counts in the first amended information.
On Sept. 3, 2009, the Attorney General’s Office said Molla repeatedly punched, kicked, and knocked down his senior citizen victim.
Assistant Attorney General Russel Lorfing prosecuted the case while Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller served as Molla’s counsel.
