Center man Bruce Berlin worked with teammate Tony Luzana to grab an early lead for the 45’s in the first quarter of the game away from the Ferrera Builders after Luzana bagged 6 points while Berlin collared 4 points to secure the lead safely.
The 45’s then created a strong defense barrier against the Ferrera Builders so their lone star player Jun Abedes was the only person to breach this defense line to score a total of 6 points after 5 minutes of silence. By the end of the first quarter the 45’s were leading by 14 points, 20-6.
The 45’s continued to aggressively push their dominance in the second quarter of the game. Luzana banked another 8 points for the 45’s while Berlin deposited another 6 points right next to Luzana’s 8.
The Ferrera Builders tried to catch up as team players Warren Villagas and Roger Valencia knocked 5 points and 4 points respectively. However, by half time, the 45’s were already way ahead of them, 38-25.
Upon entering the court once more in the second quarter of the game Luzana did not display any aspect of tiredness from the game and fended off another 8 points, two of which were charity shots after being fouled on his way up for an off the key jump shot four minutes into the third quarter.
Teammates Danny Bicera and Feliz Palacios jumped into the band wagon and each contributed his four pence to augment their lead by 19 points. The Ferrera Builder refused to go down without a fight.
Lilio Tiples scored 5 points in his attempt to save his team whilst teammate Roger Valencia contributed his 4 points.
By the end of the third quarter the score was at 58-39 with the 45’s firmly gripping the upper hand of the game.
Both teams anticipated the final ten minutes of the game with the 45’s leading the way. The 45’s aggressively announced their dominance in the court taking no time for sympathy over the Ferrera Builders.
Palacios scored 8 more points for the 45’s while teammate Luzana and Oscar Masga bucketed 4 points a head to
defeat the fatigue driven Ferrera Builders, 83-61.
