Yap announces general election unofficial results

Gov. Sebastian Anefal and Lt. Gov. Tony Tareg ran unopposed and received  3,519 votes.

On main island Yap, all senatorial incumbents are back in:

Ted Rutun – 1,325 votes

Clement Mulalap – 1,157 votes

Henry Falan – 990 votes

Charles Chieng – 860 votes

Joseph Giliko – 817 votes

John Mooteb – 808 votes

In the Neighboring Islands, all senatorial incumbents are also in with the exception of Election District 4’s Raymond Igechep who lost to Jerry G. Fagolimul.

Jerry Fagolimul collected 212 votes while Raymond Igechep received 188.

In Election District 2, Jesse Raglmar-Subolmar ran unopposed and garnered 404 votes. In Election District 3, John Masiwemai won with 286 votes while in Election District 5, Sabino Sauchomal was re-elected with 400 votes.

On the proposed amendment to the Yap State Constitution’s Article 14, which will add a new Section 11, 2,523 people voted “Yes” while 1,461 people voted “No.”

These results are still unofficial until the Yap state election commissioner certifies them
