Joseph was charged with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, two counts of sexual abuse of a minor, two counts of child abuse, two counts of obstructing justice, and two counts of disturbing the peace. His arraignment was set for Nov. 29.
Wiseman remanded Joseph to the custody of the Department of Corrections after yesterday’s hearing.
A $100,000 cash bail is required for his temporary liberty.
Assistant Attorney General Brian D. Gallagher is prosecuting the case while the Public Defender’s Office is serving as Joseph’s counsel.
The victim told police she was first sexually assaulted when she was 10, while her mother was at the hospital.
The last sexual abuse occurred on Nov. 10, 2010, she said.
