Sonia Siwa of PDM said the volunteers also included members of Saipan’s Awaodori Dance team from Koblerville Youth Center and their parents.
PDM Promoters holds its monthly cleanup on the first or second Saturday of each month.
For last Saturday’s cleanup, Siwa said the group covered the area from the fire station on Beach Road going to Winchell’s Donuts and up to the Coral Tree Avenue at the Paseo de Marianas.
In September, over 20 children from the Saipan Awaodori team joined the PDM Promoters in collecting over 380 pounds of trash in the same area in Garapan.
Siwa said the regular cleanup they conduct is part of their contributions to help make Garapan a better place and make it more attractive to tourists.
PDM also joins other cleanups organized by other groups on island throughout the year.
