Nevin Salem fulfilled to his calling as Sonics’ star player of the night after banking in 14 points in the first quarter alone, three of which were three downtown shots whilst teammate Jack Aranda collared in his 8 points to blow a gargantuan gap between themselves and team Saina.
By the end of the quarter team Saina was only able to score a total of 8 points while the Sonics were leading by 18 points, 26-8.
Team Saina entered the second quarter bravely and courageously. But the Sonics’ Bryl Alegre took no time for remorse and instead mulled another 10 points for the Sonics. The Sonics then generated an immovable and impenetrable barrier against the younger Sainas. Only Mark Puno of team Saina was able to push past this defense once to grab 2 points for his team. The Sonics then double that 18 point gap to an unbeatable 38 point lead by half time, 48-10.
Team Saina still pushed forward with high spirits in the second half of the game, putting up a defense line against team Sonics. But Bryl Alegrea was seen again on the court fending off another 6 points for his team. By the third quarter, fatigue got a better grip on the younger Sainas.
Both team entered the final quarter with high spirits. But it was history for the weary driven Sainas. James Estrada and Shawn Escalada deposited 4 points a piece in the final minutes of the game to secure the Sonics’ victory over team Saina, 85-22.
