Fitial OKs election fraud law

Introduced by Rep. Eliceo D. Cabrera, R-Saipan, House Bill 17-104 states that the period for early voting begins on the “11th day preceding an election and extends through the last day before the election day, provided that the period for early voting for the Northern Islands begins on the 46th day preceding the election and extends through the last day before the election at 4 p.m.”

The bill, which is now Public Law 17-16, also allows early voting for voters who can’t personally cast their ballots on election day due to business, necessity of travel, serving in the U.S. armed forces or merchant marine, receiving treatment, government representation and accompanying a member of the household engaged in an activity listed above.
