Letter to the Editor: How desperate is the Covenant Party?

Two men with federal criminal records. Does this make you wonder just how creditable they are? Just what is the connection between the governor and all the convicted crooks on  island? Does he not have any supporters who have not been in trouble with the law?

The tent that they set up, next to the early voting station — I may be wrong but I do not recall that it matters who owns the land. The intent of the law was to keep anyone from campaigning within 300 feet of the voting place.

Where are the feds? This is a federal election. They should be making sure that all the rules are being followed.

Have you ever noticed that when a candidate gets desperate and knows that he cannot win on the issues he starts a smear campaign? Do not let all the smearing and mud-throwing influence how you vote. Look very carefully at the candidates. Look at their backgrounds. Which of them is a man of honor? Which of them will work for all the people and not just for a select few? Which of them will stand up and be counted when the going gets rough? Then go out and vote for the one that you feel best about. Remember that no one knows who you vote for. So you have no reason to vote out of fear of reprisals from anyone. But please vote with your intelligence. Not the old party or family line. That is what got us into the mess we are in now.

Governor, the last time I checked you are supposed to be the governor for all the island residents. Why is it that you come on TV and speak in Carolinian and do not translate for the rest of us? It was bad enough when you had a meeting for Carolinians only to prepare your reply to the Department of the  Interior.
