“The Marianas Coffee Trail Run was geared at attracting international runners, and we wanted to respond to a feedback that a standard 30K run would be more attractive,” said MVA Community Projects Manager Martin Duenas. “But one thing that didn’t and won’t change is the unbeatable views along the new course.”
The run featured 30K and 10K trail runs on challenging terrain offering scenic views of the tropical island.
Beginning along the shore at American Memorial Park, the race headed to the highest point of the island on Mt. Tapochau before returning to the park. The course took runners though wild coffee plantations planted in the Japanese-colonial era, and as well as the young coffee groves of Marianas Coffee Co.
