Joyner, of Saipan Little League major’s Shell Strikers was among the young baseball players who represented NMI in the event hosted by the World Children’s Baseball Foundation.
The other NMI young players who went there were his team mates, Devon Mikale E. Garrido and Myles Joseph D. Santos; Red Sox’ Jobe T. Reyes and Kimo Mizutani.
Jess I. Wabol, was awarded the best chaperon award. The NMI delegates were hosted by Robin Parker.
Themed “Catch Your Dream,” the baseball fair gave about 200 children from 22 countries, different baseball lessons that range from basic to advance from July 29 to Aug. 6. at the Metropolitan Komazawa Olympic Park Baseball Ground.
They also had the chance to meet legendary baseball professionals like retired St. Louis Cardinals’ Lout Brock who was known Major League Baseball’s the king of stolen bases.
The children also met Japan’s home run king, Saduharo Oh, who has also retired.
Wabol would like to thank Rep. Ramon A. Tebuteb who coordinated their trip the WCBF and the Marianas Visitors Authority for providing them the brochures on the event.
