The Wings Travels trailed their opponents during the first quarter with 19-18, but quickly lost momentum in the second quarter.
Quick, evasive lay ups from Monster’s George De Guzman proved useful for the team, along with a few jumpers from Sonny Ebuen. In addition to leading with 12 points for the second quarter, De Guzman later tallied the highest score in the game with 22 points. Wings Travel’s Tony Diaz followed De Guzman in the rankings with 21 points.
The Monsters moved farther ahead of the Wings Travels after the first half by nine points, and secured their lead once again in the third quarter with 61-51.
The Wings Travels gave a good final push during the fourth quarter, when Tony Diaz struck an open three-pointer, followed by a couple shots from Robert Guiang.
Jun Tabora and Art Trajano finally kept the Monsters at the top after serving their sets of lay ups during the final minutes of the match.
