Marites Castillo, who was asked Laoeng’s family to help facilitate the repatriation, said the body will be brought to the Commonwealth Health Center chapel for public viewing today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
She said they are still accepting donations from the community for the repatriation expenses.
Their group, she said, was able to raise $1,500 but the repatriation cost is $3,600.
Mylecia Marquez, the girlfriend of Laoeng, also collected donations but has not turned over the money to the funeral parlor, Castillo said.
She said Laoeng’s son-in-law in the U.S., Michael Stroh, already talked with the funeral parlor on Saipan about the repatriation.
Laoeng died of cardiac arrest while installing a tomb marker at the Chalan Kanoa cemetery.
