Spooktacular show

Chacha PTSA meeting

(COJHS) — Chacha Ocean View Jr. High School will have a PTSA meeting on Oct. 28, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., in the cafeteria. Chacha is encouraging parents, guardians and members of the community to attend the meeting.

NMC names new director for library programs and services

(NMC) —  Northern Marianas College has appointed Matthew Pastula as the new director for library programs and services. He will manage the Olympio T. Borja Memorial Library, CNMI Archives and Curriculum Resource Center, ensuring their information and services are readily available to students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Prior to joining the NMC team, Pastula worked as a college liaison librarian at a major university in Wellington, New Zealand. At the university, he provided information services for students and faculty, managed the information desk staff, created online learning materials, and taught information literacy skills.

During his time in Wellington, Pastula also worked as an analyst for the New Zealand government. Prior to moving overseas, he worked at  Oakland Community College in Michigan, one of the largest community colleges in the U.S.

Pastula earned a master’s degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, and completed his postgraduate studies at Victoria University in Wellington.

Friends of the Arts auditions

FRIENDS of the Arts announces upcoming auditions for “Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Production of A Christmas Carol.”

Auditions are open to the general public, and will held on Oct. 30 and 31, 2 to 4 p.m. in Hal Easton’s classroom at Marianas High School:  D-102. All are welcome to audition.
