According to Palau Visitors Authority’s monthly report, the number of visitors in Sept. 2010 reached to 7,203 compared to a total of 6,411 arrivals in Sept. last year.
Taiwan increased its arrivals to 593 or 42 percent compared to the same period last year — from 1,426 in Sept 2009 to 2,019 in Sept. 2010.
Korea also increased its arrivals, from 836 in Sept. 2009 to 925 in Sept. 2010, ending the month with an increase of 89 or 11 percent arrivals compared to the same month last year.
North America and Europe have both ended the month with an increase of their arrivals compared to the same period last year.
North America’s arrivals soared to 112 or 36 percent, from 313 arrivals in Sept. 2009 to 425 in Sept. 2010. With 150 arrivals in Sept. 2010, Europe also showed a slight increase of 22 or 18 percent of arrivals.
However, Japan ended the month with a decrease of 77 or -2 percent of arrivals compared to same month last year, with 3,204 arrivals in Sept 2009 to 3,127 in Sept. 2010.
Japan has the biggest number of arrivals, which totals 3,127 based on the PVA statistics in the month of Sept. 2010, followed by Republic of China with 2,019 arrivals, and Korea with 925. Next were US Mainland with 425 and Guam with 213 arrivals.
