Japan envoy meets with Yap lt. governor

Sato was escorted to Traders Ridge Resort where he and the wife will be staying for the duration of the visit.

Sato began his visit by paying a courtesy call on Lt. Gov. Tony Tareg and reiterating the strong relationship between the two governments.

Sato said the construction of a new terminal and the renovation of the existing terminal at Pohnpei Airport are examples of the good relation between the FSM and Japan.

He also highlighted an FSM request for Japan to provide another ship, including spare parts for repair of the MS Caroline Voyager so it would continue providing service in the islands.

Sato also talked about some of the small-scale grant projects in Yap, which have been funded by the Japanese government.
