Triple J corporate auditor and representative for the Sandy Beach Homes Project Mike Sablan said they have had additional discussions in the past three weeks but were still waiting for CDA’s decision.
Sablan said the project is in the financing phase and they are conducting ongoing discussions with the Northern Marianas Housing Corp. and the federal government.
Triple J earlier got the approval of Coastal Resource Management and the Zoning Office following public hearings.
“Most of the local project permitting is done,” Sablan said.
The project will be constructed on a private beach behind the now abandoned Pacific Gardenia Hotel in Chalan Kanoa.
The project covers five parcels of land with a total land area of 4,252 square meters. The 60-room apartment building, which Triple J wants to construct before the year ends, will have six floors with a spacious parking area designed to cater to families.
Triple J aims to complete the project in two or three years.
Sablan said the project will help boost economic activity in the area which can help make a difference in these tough times.
