Docomo crushes Westerner, 85-82

Having the Westerners outnumbered, the Docomo Pacifics used their larger size to their advantage. Constant substituting refreshed the Docomos on the court, turning the game to their favor during the second quarter.

Elmer Esdrelon shot an instant three-pointer for the Docomos but didn’t mark his next three-point field goal until the fourth quarter. Accompanying him with his long ranged shots were Jun Estolas and Amor Casabuena, who secured the Docomo Pacifics’ victory in the start of the second half.

The Westerners carefully held on, with Mike Olaitiman leading the team. Olaitiman steadily earned points with his lay ups, while Asterio Tawanpiy and D. Rapugan supported him with a few jumpers.

Behind by 10 points in the first half, the Westerners made a powerful comeback in the final quarter when Olaitiman relentlessly scored against helpless Docomo defenders.

It was Ron Gamboa’s three-pointer that ultimately saved the Docomo Pacifics. Gamboa earned the highest score for his team with 17 points, while the Westerners earned half its scores from Olaitiman, who made 40 points.
