Republic of China celebrates 99th national day

ROC –Taiwan ambassador Maggie Taiching Tien has invited all government officials, dignitaries, diplomats, friends and media to grace the celebration which will be held at the Ming’s Restaurant in Palasia Hotel from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening.

Taiwan has been loyal friend and close ally of Palau since Palau changed its diplomatic ties from the communist government, People’s Republic of China to Taiwan over 10 year ago.

As part of being closed ally, ROC-Taiwan held a series of donations of taro to different government offices and non-governmental organizations of Palau last week. Aside from the different projects funded by Taiwan stimulus to Palau.

On Sept 30, China National Day was a public holiday in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to celebrate its national day, and marked by spectacular firework displays around the country.

The PRC was founded on October 1, 1949 with a ceremony at Tiananmen Square. The Central People’s Government passed the Resolution on the National Day of the People’s Republic of China on December 2, 1949 and declared that October 1 is the National Day.

 

The National Day is celebrated throughout mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau with a variety of government-organized festivities, including fireworks and concerts. Public places, such as Tiananmen Square in Beijing, are decorated in a festive theme. Portraits of revered leaders, such as Sun Yat-sen, are publicly displayed.
