Team SDA cut the Knights off in the second set, after dominating them by 25-19. The Knights momentarily led the match by 7-5, but reached a deadlock with team SDA at 10-10. SDA’s Tyler Palacios and Jong Woo Kim played a fierce duo after knocking out the Knights with several spikes. Despite missing some attacks from the Knights, SDA’s Hatsuko Bearden offered strong support near the end of the match, earning a couple points for her team.
Ken Amog led the Knights in several close calls with team SDA. After a kill from Kim, the Knights’ defense began to falter.
The Knights came close to winning the first set after tying the game at 24-24. Team SDA returned a couple clean serves, with Bearden snatching the winning point. They were behind by 7-3 at first, but Palacios and Mariol Lopez turned the game around after catching the Knights off-guard with their passes.
Team SDA is scheduled to play their final game of the season today against Saipan International School Team B at SDA’s home court.
