Masters league holds meeting for Thursday

There will also be a mandatory meeting scheduled for this Thursday, October 14, 2010 held at the Gilbert C. Ada gymnasium’s conference room.

So far there are 11 teams that have already been registered and are ready to compete. The MBFNMI Board had set the game cap of the number of teams that can play and the cap has been decided at 14 teams.

MBFNMI is still accepting formed teams for the remaining 2-3 slots and it is up for grabs.

Entrance Fee is set at $350.00 and teams can make initial payment of $200.00 by October 14 and the $150.00 can be paid in full before the second game.

Players who don’t have a team are requested to attend MBFNMI’s this Thursday’s meeting at the conference room in order for interested independent players to be assigned to a team or to be given a chance to possibly form their own squad.

Players turning 40 and 45 years old this year are qualified to join for the respective divisions.

MBFNMI Logo Patches will be issued when teams meet the initial payments.

The MBFNMI logo patch is mandated to be worn by all players at all times and it must be located at the top left area of their uniforms.

All games will be played at the Ada Gym; tentative schedule games will be on Saturdays 12:00pm-6:00pm and Sundays 9:00am-6:00pm.

The format will be Single Round Robin and Top 8 teams will have a chance to claim the championship seat and be forever remembered in the MBFNMI’s Historical Book as the first 40A and 45A Champions.

Team rosters must not exceed 12 players, and players will be required to submit eligibility requirements, sign waiver forms, $5.00 annual membership fee (also for non-members), and the team head coach/asst. coach must be a MBFNMI registered member.

The MBFNMI will have very unique ground rules which will live up to its goal in promoting health and fitness.

One unique rule would be that ALL players must play in all 4 quarters or teams will be subjected for violation of the rule.

The MBFNMI will continue to implement FIBA rules as well. Players can call for a time-out any time when a player has full-control of the ball or substitution on any violation(s). Ground rules will be distributed during the next meeting.

Trophy categories have yet to discussed and decided upon by the MBFNMI Board.

MBFNMI Board of Directors decided to form its own team to join the Masters Basketball League 40A.

Along with its focus of living a healthier lifestyle, the MBFNMI has future plans of sending teams next year to the famous World Masters Organizations or also known as the Masters Games 2011 in Australia and 2013 World Masters Olympic in Italy where 153 countries have already been registered.

The MBFNMI would like to extend their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the Pacific Island Club for donating $1000 to the organization.
