Sonics edge Rollers in Rotary caging

Kevin Salem of the Sonics readily showed his basketball talents on the court after breaching Rollers’ defense twice successfully connecting three jump shots to bring in 6 points for the Sonics yanking the upper hand of the game away from the Rollers by 3 points at the end of the quarter, 12-9.

Bryl Alegre and Jack Aranda jumped into the winning band wagon after tallying in 4 points a piece in their attempt to widen the shaky 3 point lead they acquired in the first quarter to a rugged 5 point lead by the conclusion of the first half of the game.

As the second half of the game unraveled, team Sonics did not go easy on the young and fatigue driven Rollers.

Jack Aranda ignited the Sonics’ winning rally after stealing the ball repeatedly, while dodging fouls, from the Rollers’ Stacy Escueta and steadily drove the ball home several times to fend off 10 points for the Sonics widening the rugged gap to an unyielding 11 point lead over the Rollers by the end of the third quarter.

Team Rollers fought long and hard in the last ten minutes of the game. Unfortunately, try as they might, they could not breach past the Sonics’ steady defense. Unfortunately they were not able to score anymore points after the third quarter.

Through teamwork, the Sonics were able to chip in 14 final points to change the deficit to 80-40 blowing team Rollers out of the court in the final round securing their win in the 15 and under Rotary youth basketball league.
