Legislative Bureau Director Glenna SP. Reyes and Youth Congress Speaker Alana Leon Guerrero asked FBI special agent Sharon Huber to investigate this intrusion in the LB’s Internet property and determine if any criminal charges can be filed by federal authorities.
Reyes and Leon Guerrero said somebody was able to use the Youth Congress e-mail account between the afternoon and evening of Sept. 13. The unauthorized user sent each lawmaker allegations against a government official.
The FBI was provided with a hard copy of the anonymous e-mail which originated from the Youth Congress’ official e-mail account.
The Youth Congress and the Legislative Bureau also made the same request to the Department of Public Safety and the Attorney General’s Office.
Reyes declined to give details regarding the contents of the e-mail pending the completion of the requested investigation.
She said aside from the LB’s administrative officer and web content editor, two former employees have access to the e-mail account.
