Knights, Eagles share victories

The MCS Knights headed off to a strong start with their junior varsity team, scoring the first few points in their first set against the GCA Eagles. The Eagles eventually recuperated, reaching halfway through the game-point mark with 13 points. The Knights retaliated with some quick serves, earning easy points against their opponents. In the end, the Eagles failed to return a served ball, giving the Knights their first win of the day.

Both junior varsity teams performed similarly in their second set, with the Knights shooting again for the lead. They easily marked their first 10 points. The Eagles suffered from a few failed serves, but were able to get back up on their feet again. The Knights later dominated with 25-22, with both teams scoring exactly the same from their first set.

A different outcome resulted from the Knights and Eagles’ varsity games, where the Eagles’ varsity teams triumphed in their two sets.

The Eagles took advantage of their overhand serves in the beginning, giving them easy points against the Knights. Brandon from the Eagles later scored three aces, with a couple more from Dae Min and Angelo.

The Knights’ varsity team fought a close game in their first set, but was outmatched by the Eagles, who scored 25-21. The Knights continued to suffer in their second game, after failing to recover themselves from the Eagles’ quick spikes.

The Eagles’ varsity team won their second set with 25-19.

The Coalition of Private Schools Sports Association will have several more match ups today, with varsity and junior varsity games scheduled between Calvary Christian Academy and Grace Christian Academy, Marianas Baptist Academy and Saipan International School’s Team B, MCS and SISB, and Whispering Palms School and Saipan Community School.
