Mindzenty students amaze Gov. Adachi

The governor was surprised that the students were fully aware of the issues surrounding Koror especially the most recent one, the casino.

“I’m surprised to see that they are well informed and that’s a good indication. It’s very important for our young citizens to be aware of the issues because it is their future that we are talking about,” Adachi said in an interview last week.

The students held a forum as part of their Civic and Social Studies subject and Governor Adachi was invited to be the speaker of the forum.

The governor talked about governance, youth, democracy and education.

He also shared some of his programs for the people of Koror State.

The governor taught them how to make the right decision and how to be responsible adults in the future.

He also urged them to speak what’s on their minds and to stand by it saying it’s their right to voice out their opinion.

During the question and answer part, the Governor was asked about casino and homeless people.

The governor who is opposed to the casino bill project told the students that casino is not the only means to make money.

He said there are other means to find revenue to fund the programs of the State.

“It’s just a matter of setting up priorities and for me education should be the priority. It’s a plus factor. To be well educated is an advantage. You are the future of this country so if you are equipped with education you will know what to do and you can deal every situation very well,” he told the students.

The Governor in an interview said he will respect the will of the people if the people will decide to have it in Koror.
