US, Palau Joint Committee meeting, Oct. 8

The U.S. will be represented by Rear Admiral Douglas Biesel. Biesel is Commander, Navy Region Marianas/U.S. Pacific Command Representative for Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau and Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Marianas.

Palau’s delegation will be led   by President Johnson Toribiong.

 U.S. Charge D’ Affaires, Mark Bezner said the meeting will discuss security and defense issues.

 Bezner said that the meeting will discuss a full range of issues. The agenda of the meeting are of “mutual interest for both sides.”

He said there are both general and specific issues that will be discussed.

The bilateral meeting will be a one-day event.

The rest of delegations from the US side are Bezner, Col. J.K. Arruda, Chief of the US Pacific Command South Asia /Ocenia Policy Division; Col. David Norton, Chief of the Joint Task Force Homeland Defense; Lt. Col. Jennifer Hughes, USPACOM Pacific Island Country Director ; Lt. Col. Chris Walters, USPACOM Attorney Division; Lt. Commander PACFLT Ocenia Country Director; Lt. Commander Ned Selander, Political /Military Affairs Officer ; Lt. Commander Jeffrey Jasinski , Officer-in-charge Civic Action Team Detachment and four others officers from the Pacific Command.
