Ex-MHS English teacher was ‘friendly, funny, honest’

“The image of Tim [Faska] sitting at the counter at Wild Bill’s eating his breakfast and being the friendly, funny, honest guy he was, is etched in my mind,” recalled Jeffrey Turbitt, a former Saipan teacher.

“I’m extremely shocked, upset and saddened about this news. I heard from a mutual friend he had been very ill,” Turbitt  added.

Timothy James Faska, 49, was “very involved in academic extracurricular activities at MHS and spent many years in the Marianas,” Turbitt said.

He added, “[Faska’s] passing is a huge loss to the islands. He will be missed by many.”

Chief Prosecutor Kevin Lynch said Faska’s next of kin had already been notified.

“The brother of the victim was contacted by the Office of Attorney General,” said Department of Public Safety acting spokesman PO2 Jason Tarkong.

Faska was last seen alive on Saturday after a Stanford Resort employee fixed his room’s electrical safety box.

He was a client of the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems Inc.
